Men of God's Choice

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
- Proverbs 27:17-

FIRSTLY let us look at the verse of scripture that gives this group its "motto". Men of God and the church are to sharpen one another. And as we meet regularly, the men of NLCMC will do just that - sharpen one another according to God's plan, measure, and methods.

We believe and stand on God's word in II Cor. 5:17 - "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new". We are called to be examples of God’s grace and love, first in our families and then in our relationships in the Church and our employment. As a result, we are committed to exhorting and encouraging one another as we pursue God’s best for ourselves, our families and our communities.

ULTIMATE VISION: Our Pastor has been given a strong vision for the House of God and especially for the men of God within, and the lost outside the church. Firstly, our mission consists of helping men accept Jesus as their personal Savior.  We assist men with building a relationship with God, and offer opportunities to fellowship with other strong men of God. We also encourage and offer spiritual accountability. Secondly, we desire to see our "Men of God" move from "boys with toys" to "spirit led men looking ahead", so that they reflect the Biblical model of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul best captures this in 1 Corinthians 13:11, "when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things".

The Strategy: Our strategy is to mentor men through the local church with practical Biblical teachings on spiritual principles that will help men to become the men God created them to be.

Place of Praise (PoP): We like to ask, "How's your PoP?" Every man of God needs a Place of Praise.  This is an ALIVE place of intimacy with God. We're taught and believe in keeping this place sacred. Our vision is to see men's lives changed through the gospel of Jesus Christ and to see men mature in the Lord.

If you are a man who 'walks' the path of Christ you will be a better husband, father, boss, co-worker and friend if you RECEIVE the teaching. Let us encourage you along the way. We endeavor to cultivate relationships that go beyond denominations and offer opportunities for wholesome fellowship with other believers in Jesus Christ. We welcome men who are open to experiencing spiritual growth and maintaining spiritual unity.

Make no mistake, we share a lot of laughter and have FUN. However, we have meaningful and edifying experiences at the many events and activities scheduled. NLCMC Men's Ministry engages regularly in fellowships whereby men are seeking a change. Our activities include, but are not limited to, outreaches and seminars based on biblical teachings inspired by the Holy Spirit.

We meet every third Saturday of the month for breakfast at 9:00 a.m. at a local restaurant or other recreational venue.  For more information about the Men's Ministry, please contact Pastor W.D. Gadsden at 090-9808-4255.  For details on upcoming events and activities, please contact the church or check our events calendar on our website.
